Textile Roofs is taking a
Creative Break, being back in 2027
Over the past 30 years, since the first edition of "Textile Roofs" in 1995, much has developed and changed in our industry. Therefore, after 27 exciting, inspiring and community-driven editions of "Textile Roofs" it is time for the event series to undergo a comprehensive facelift.
We have decided to modernize our format where necessary and enrich it with new ideas. We want to carefully, yet decisively and above all appropriately develop "Textile Roofs" with a clear vision for the future.
We already have some promising ideas and approaches. However, to implement them successfully, we need to engage intensively with the format and all its content.
We will now take the time necessary to do this and consciously we will take a creative break in 2026.
After eventful years, including a boom around the turn of the millennium and the strange years surrounding the pandemic, we will get a new look, change our clothes and learn a few new moves.
We'll be back in 2027 with a fresh new vibe – ready for a new start after a successful pit stop.
Our goal, while honoring its unique tradition and special charismatic radiance which has grown over many years, is to create a "Textile Roofs" held with our long-standing and new partners that combines the best of the past with forward-looking impulses, exciting elements and inspiring fresh ideas with compelling content.
“Textile Roofs” has always been a place for the exchange of knowledge, inspiration and encounters and it will remain so. With openness, creativity, exchange and its community, initially shaped by its founder Prof. Lothar Gründig and since 2014 successfully continued by Prof. Rosemarie Wagner, we aim to strengthen the values that have defined “Textile Roofs” from its inception.
We will inform you in due course about the exact details of how the new "Textile Roofs" will look like. Stay tuned! 😉
And you can also participate in shaping "Textile Roofs 2.0": Please share your ideas for topics, formats or impulses you envision for the "Textile Roofs" of the future. Together we can create an event that enthusiastically showcases the innovative power of textile architecture and addresses and discusses a wide range of important future topics.
We look forward to the path ahead and to spring 2027 with a "Textile Roofs" that combines tradition with innovation, is groundbreaking and - as always - promises three vibrant and creative days.
See you then and there.
